Ghost signage

What: Painted signage on side of building Function: Product advertising Where: Downtown Champaign Quality: Medium; in bad repair Style/Design/Typography: Historic Victorian or maybe pre-Depression or Kitsch (1950s; no dates are visible) What attracted me to the piece:  I have a long-standing interest in old buildings, and it's exciting to see retention of original/early materials. It's fun to think about how advertisements used to be painted directly onto buildings, and how vibrant this might have been. The layout of COAL on the side is unusual.
