Candidate for Congress

My selection for this blog post is a campaign sign for Jon Ebel, which my neighbor posted in his lawn. It has relatively high quality art work for a campaign sign. The name of the candidate is enclosed in a badge shape. The design indicates depth by having a ribbon overlap the badge, but the overall effect is still fairly flat. All the words are clearly legible. I would consider this retro Victorian style due to the ribbon over the badge.

This piece stands out among other political signs due to the care taken in its design. I consider it trendy and bold. For example, my neighbor put this one right next to a sign for Biss that has very little extraneous features beyond the name of the candidate and the office he is running for.
